STEM access that opens doors.

The Common Thread Foundation expands access to STEM education for underserved communities through community partnerships, equitable programming, and hands-on learning opportunities for young people and families.

Every child deserves the chance to explore, build, create, and discover.

The Common Thread Foundation was created to help close opportunity gaps by expanding access to high-quality STEM education. We work with community organizations, educators, and local government partners to create programs that are welcoming, practical, and rooted in the needs of the communities we serve.

Expand access

We help remove barriers so more young people can participate in meaningful STEM learning opportunities.

Build partnerships

We collaborate with community organizations, education providers, and government stakeholders to increase reach and impact.

Support equitable programming

We use grant-supported initiatives and community-centered planning to bring STEM opportunities to underserved communities.

Why it matters

Hands-on STEM learning builds confidence, curiosity, problem-solving, and future readiness. By creating more equitable access to these opportunities, we help young people imagine new possibilities for themselves and their communities.

Community-centered STEM programming

Our work is focused on opening pathways for underserved communities through strategic partnerships, grant-supported programming, and practical learning experiences that make STEM feel accessible and relevant.

Help us:

  • create more access

  • more opportunity

  • more connected pathways into STEM
